What We Think
Given the ever-increasing levels of technology and connectivity that we see in modern cars, this partnership feels like a sensible extension of the apps offered by many automotive manufacturers so that owners can monitor and control various elements of their vehicles.
While I lack both the wrist size and the Porsche required to give this cheap TAG Heuer Connected replica watches a good home, I can see the logic in this offering, as few brands enjoy a market position like that of Porsche’s. And, if you’re going in on a brand new Taycan (which starts at $86,700 and tops-out well over $200,000), the futuristic experience is a big part of the appeal, and I think that a smartwatch integration manages to amplify the cutting-edge appeal of a high-end electric car.
